INTRODUCTION

Achieving your dream

God has done well in creating everything in the universe; and it’s intriguing to note that every living soul has one dream to make into reality in life. Whether your dream is to be the best in your profession, at work, school, social skill, finance, marriage, relationship, and ministry or to become world number one athlete, it’s possible if you dare it enough.

Nonetheless, your dream is your succession of thought, images, ideas, emotions and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in your mind during sleep. Most vivid dreams occur during deep, REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, when the brain is most active. Some experts say we dream at least four to six times per night. Dreams can make you feel happy, sad, or scared. And they may seem confusing or perfectly rational. But the truth is you have a vision to see, a life to live and a way to go.

You live for something, one tangible thing for sure. Many people are waiting for your light and I know, for sure, the time has come and it’s now. Manifest your dream now. Show the world that shinning light of yours. Give your life a meaning by showing the world that beauty that’s within you.

However, you can make a difference now because, without you actualizing your dream this world is incomplete. Also, you have got a reason to live, maybe you are not aware. You have to accomplish that your dream to show the world the real you and let the world know you’re special. But as the old saying goes, “If wishes were horses then beggars would ride”, it’s not enough to want, you have to do something. You have to chase and turn your dream into reality. Even though we don’t dream equally but we all have dreams, wishes, missions, purpose and crave for something valuable in our heart. Maybe yours is to be the best at something in school or at work, at a sport, business or some other passion. Or to make the trip somewhere in the world you’ve been thinking about for years now; or to improve your financial status, social skills, find that special someone or to get into great shape.

Sometimes it’s hard to keep your dream alive. At other times your dreams can remain just daydreams for far too long. But no matter what you can do it, if you will. However, there are pitfalls that lots of people neglect to deal with including you and me, and this often makes our dreams to be stifled without seeing the light of the day. Self limiting obstacle like: fear, procrastination, worry, depression, inaction, setbacks, loses; doubt, passivity, indifference, hardship, rumble and bustle of life name it., all these serves a deterrent to the dreams we have in the inside of us. But if we can be able enough to press past all this Pandora’s Box; and realize that our dreams are more important than anything else. Then, we would simply begin to figure out that our dreams are the mental pictures of our tomorrow. We would as well gradually begin to imagine, act, document, strategize, pen down and take the needed action and proactive steps as quickly as we can, for a better future.

Someone once said, “Let your dreams, not your regrets, take command of your life.” That’s true. Malcolm Forbes also believed that when you cease to dream, you cease to live. Therefore, dare to dream big and think big as Ben Carson said.

Interestingly enough, God is enthralled in people who love to dream big for positive transformation and His ready to send all the needed resources to us; in order to make it a living reality—if we lay it in His hands astutely.

Years ago, a man named Martin Luther King said, “I have a dream that one day we will not only be judged by the colour of our skin, but by the content of our individual character.” Many mocked, ridiculed and derided his idea—that it isn’t possible. Little did they know that his dream had him, and that credible dream never dies when diligently pursued. Martin assiduously pursued his dream of abolishing racial discrimination in America, and today his dream speaks for the Blacks wherever they are round the world.

Obviously, this was also observed in the life of a persevering young Joseph, in the bible, who told his dream to his elder brothers and parents, but they disregarded it. But twenty years after he had this dream, it became crystal clear to them that dreams indeed do work. Even though he passed through numerous staggering challenges that could have deterred anyone; but as far as we know, Joseph dream later become a reality in the fullness of time.

He rose to higher rank and served as a means of survival to his entire family through the power of positive dreams (Genesis 49:19-20). Not forgetting king Nebuchadnezzar who dreamt a dream, but was troubled because those who claimed to be wise and sees what the future holds could not interpret it (Daniel 2:8-11). Until Daniel came to the scene, and it was indeed revealed to him what it actually means.
